To ensure communication compatibility and stability of IoT terminals in a test environment, this document outlines the applicable device types, configuration requirements, and debugging procedures for prototypes using LTE-Cat M or LTE-Cat NB technologies when connecting to comprehensive testers such as the CMW500. Relevant parties are advised to carefully verify the prototype configuration prior to submission to ensure smooth testing.
IoT devices utilizing LTE-Cat Mor LTE-Cat NBtechnologies.
a. Prototypes with a Physical SIM Slot
No special requirements; can connect directly to the tester.
b. Prototypes with eSIM
The eSIM's PLMN, APN, and authentication settings must match those of the test equipment.
Example: CMW500 tester configuration:
1. PLMN: 00101
2. APN: cmw500.rohde-schwarz.com
3. Authentication: 0001 0203 0405 0607 0809 0A0B 0C0D 0E0F
If a physical SIM slot is used in place of the eSIM, the above settings must still align with the tester.
c. Prototypes with Both a Physical SIM Slot and eSIM
Instructions must be provided on how to switch between the physical SIM and eSIM for communication.
d. Other Types of Prototypes
Detailed information must be provided in advance and confirmed with the lab’s testing engineers.
If the prototype fails to communicate with the CMW500 tester, the client must provide the following support materials:
1. User manual
2. Permission to access the AT command port
This allows inspection of the prototype status via AT commands. Common AT commands include:
`AT+CPIN?`
1. Function: Check if the SIM card is recognized
2. Return Value: “Ready” indicates the SIM card is properly inserted and operational
3. Example:
`AT+CIMI`
1. Function: Retrieve the first 5 digits of the SIM’s IMSI (i.e., PLMN)
2. Requirement: This value must match the tester’s PLMN
3. Example:
`AT+COPS?`
1. Function: Check network registration status
2. Return Value: "0" indicates automatic network search; if registered, returns a response like `+COPS: 0,0,00101`
3. Example:
`AT+URAT?`
Function: Display the current network mode
