Since January 1, 2022, cosmetics marketed in China shall undergo efficacy evaluation in accordance with the Specifications for Cosmetic Efficacy Claim Evaluation.

Cosmetic efficacy claims shall be supported by sufficient scientific evidence.

Cosmetic registrants and filers shall publish summaries of literature, research data or product efficacy evaluation materials supporting efficacy claims on a special website designated by the Drug Administration of the State Council, subject to social supervision.
