Electromagnetic Compatibility Testing

Update time : 2025-04-10

With the increasing popularity of electronic technology, there are more and more sources of interference in the electromagnetic environment. The electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) issues of products have received high attention from governments and manufacturers worldwide. In order to regulate the EMC of electronic products, developed countries and some developing countries have jointly established EMC standards. This also means that electronic products must undergo emc testing during the R&D phase and improve their electromagnetic compatibility performance based on the test results to meet the corresponding EMC standards, thereby gaining enough competitiveness to be recognized by the external market.

China JJR Laboratory is a third-party EMC electromagnetic compatibility testing organization accredited by CNAS. The laboratory is qualified and capable of providing emc testing services for products such as lighting fixtures, home appliances, power tools, and electronic electrical equipment. Services include EMC electromagnetic compatibility testing, preliminary EMC testing, EMC rectification, and emc certification.

what is emc Testing?

EMC testing, also known as electromagnetic compatibility testing, refers to a comprehensive assessment of an electronic product's electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic susceptibility (EMS). It is one of the most important quality indicators for a product. The EMC measurement is conducted through test facilities and instruments.

The purpose of EMC testing is to detect the electromagnetic radiation generated by electrical products and its effects on humans, public power grids, and other normal working electrical products. EMC testing is divided into two major categories:

- Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Testing: Testing the emission of interference from electronic product systems to other devices and electromagnetic space.

- Electromagnetic Susceptibility (EMS) Testing: Testing the ability of electronic devices to resist electromagnetic interference from the surrounding environment.

Why is EMC Testing Necessary?

1. Product certification requirements: EMC certification is required for CCC, CE, fcc, UL product certifications, and corresponding emc certificates must be obtained.

2. Market demand: Manufacturers need an EMC test report to purchase products or gain extra points in bidding when an EMC test report is included.

3. Verifying product reliability and expanding product visibility.

4. The need for national scientific research project approvals.
