What is fcc?

FCC stands for the Federal Communications Commission, an independent agency of the U.S. government established in 1934 and directly accountable to Congress. According to the U.S. Federal RegULations (CFR Title 47), most electronic products entering the U.S. market must undergo fcc certification to ensure compliance with wireless communication regulations.

FCC certification is a mandatory requirement for the vast majority of electronic devices, including radio equipment, communication devices, and other products utilizing wireless technology. However, some specific products or situations may be exempt from FCC certification. This certification ensures that products meet U.S. regulations and standards concerning electromagnetic compatibility, wireless spectrum usage, and wireless communication performance, thereby protecting public safety and ensuring effective wireless operations.

Policy

Manufacturers and sellers must understand and comply with the relevant sections of U.S. Federal Regulations (CFR Title 47) to ensure their products meet regulatory requirements and maintain compliance in the U.S. market.

Compliance Guidelines

Physical Labeling Requirements

1. fcc id Label

The FCC requires all manufacturers of radio frequency (RF) emitting products to place a certification mark—the FCC ID—on their devices. The FCC ID may be affixed as a label, etched on the device exterior, or electronically displayed. By law, the FCC ID must be clearly visible and printed in a font readable without magnification, for example:

```
FCC ID: XXXXXXXXX
```

Note:The prefix must be uppercase “FCC ID.” Incorrect formats such as FCCID, FCC IDENTIFIER, FCC-ID, Fcc ID, FCC id, FCC ID (mouse), FCC I D, etc., are not permitted.

2. FCC Statements

The FCC requires that all products authorized under fcc sdoc or FCC certification include one of the following compliance statements on their labels:

1.For receivers related to licensed radio services:

This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the condition that this device does not cause harmful interference.

2.For independent cable input selector switches:

This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules for use with cable television service.

3.For all other devices:

This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesiRED operation.

Note:If your product is subject to FCC regulations, ensure full compliance with all labeling requirements.

User Manual Requirements

According to U.S. regulations, all intentional (FCC ID) or unintentional (FCC sdoc) RF electronic products must include an “Information to User” section in the user manual. This section provides usage information, which must contain the following two parts:

1. For related electronic devices or peripherals, include a statement like the following prominently in the manual:

```
Note: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
—Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
—Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
—Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
—Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
```

2. The manual must warn users that unauthorized changes or modifications could void their authority to operate the device, for example:

```
Important: Change or modifications not expressly approved by the manufacturer responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
```

FCC Qualification Requirements

To ensure product compliance, sellers must provide corresponding qualification documents. Regarding FCC certification, there are two main types of qualification documents: FCC ID (FCC certification certificate) and FCC SDoC (FCC Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity certificate). Sellers should carefully review related guidance to ensure their products meet U.S. federal regulations and platform requirements.

Sellers must provide accurate and complete qualification documents when selling products to guarantee compliance and market access.

1. FCC ID (FCC Certification Certificate)

The product must have an FCC qualification document bearing an FCC ID / FCC Identifier, and the FCC ID must match the information in the FCC database.

2. FCC SDoC (Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity)

This document must be a complete test report confirming that the product meets the fcc part 15B regulations under the Federal Regulations (CFR).
