Recently, the European energy crisis has triggeRED a surge in heating product sales. Products such as heat packs, electric heaters, and electric blankets have seen booming production and demand. Many importers have placed additional orders for heaters, leading to a new wave of “replenishment orders.” According to European home appliance retailers, in August alone, sales of oil-filled and convection heaters REACHed 2.5 times their normal levels. As the demand for heating products continues to grow, it is essential to understand the regULatory requirements of different markets. Below is an overview.
1. Oil-Filled Radiator Heater
Also known as an oil-filled electric heater. This type of heater contains new heat-conducting oil inside. When powered on, the heating element warms the oil, which then transfers heat along fins or pipes, radiating warmth into the room.
2. PTC Heater
PTC stands for Positive Temperature Coefficient— a ceramic heating element. It uses a fan to blow air through the PTC heating component, forcing convection and distributing heat as the main exchange method.
3. Convection Heater
This type of heater has an air outlet at the top and an air inlet at the bottom. When powered on, air around the heating element warms up and rises through the outlet, while cooler air enters from below to replace it. This continuous circulation gradually increases the room temperature.
