How to get the Amazon SOR/2016-175 Test Report?

CeraMIC tableware and glassware sold on Amazon Canada must comply with the SOR/2016-175 certification, which aims to ensure the quality and safety of ceramic tableware and glassware. This certification requires that the products meet relevant regULations in terms of material safety, durability, stability, thermal stability, and food migration limits.

 

Product Examples

The regulations apply to the following glazed ceramic and glazed glass products:

- Made entirely or partially from ceramic or glass

- CoveRED entirely or partially with coatings, glazes, or decorations containing lead or cadmium

- Used for storing, preparing, or serving food or beverages

 

Examples include: ceramic products, cups or mugs, drinking utensils, flatware, cutlery, bowls, large bowls, water pitchers, small bowls.

Amazon requires that all other glazed ceramic and glassware be tested and comply with the following regulations, standards, and requirements:

Certification Standards Requirements

- Material Safety: Ceramic tableware and glassware should be made from materials that comply with relevant regulations and standards, and must not contain excessive heavy metals, harmful substances, or other ingredients that are hazardous to human health.

- Durability and Stability: Products should have sufficient strength and stability to prevent breakage, cracking, or other safety issues during normal use.

- Thermal Stability: Products should be able to maintain surface integrity under common thermal stress without cracking, deformation, or color fading.

- Food Migration Limits: The products must not migrate harmful or unsafe chemicals when in contact with food, to ensure human health safety.

 

Your product detail page must include the following information:

- Model, part number, or product number

- Name of the manufacturer or private brand holder (distributor)

- The age grading listed on the product detail page must match the age grading in the test report.

 

You must submit the following documents:

- Product descriptions and manuals for glazed ceramic and glassware

- Test report issued by an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory, proving that the product complies with the above regulations, standards, and requirements

- The test report must include pictures of the product, proving that the tested product is the same as the one listed on the product detail page.

 

You must submit clear and identifiable product images, which should include the following information:

- Product labels, relevant safety information, compliance marks, hazard warnings, and images of the product or product packaging from all sides

- The images must prove that the product is the same as the one tested and published on the product detail page.

 

Model, part number, or product number

To ensure compliance with all the above requirements and reduce the possibility of delays in the approval process, please provide clear images of all edges of the product or product packaging.

 

SOR Certification Process:

1. Complete the application form.

2. Provide samples and make payment.

3. The China JJR laboratory arranges the testing.

4. Draft report issued after passing the test.

5. Confirm the final official report.
