AS/NZS 4268 is the RF (Radio Frequency) reporting standard for Australia and New Zealand, primarily used to assess the compliance of short-range wireless devices. Below is a detailed analysis of the AS/NZS 4268 test report:

I. Standard Overview

Release and Effective Date

The AS/NZS 4268 standard has undergone multiple version updates. For instance, as/nzs 4268:2017 was officially released by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) on February 24, 2017, and came into effect immediately. Meanwhile, the standard provided a one-year transition period, i.e., until February 24, 2018, both AS/NZS 4268:2017 and the 2012 version could be used. After that date, the AS/NZS 4268:2017 version became mandatory.

Scope of Application

The AS/NZS 4268 standard applies to wireless products exported to Australia or New Zealand, especially short-range wireless devices.

II. Testing Requirements

Testing Standards

The AS/NZS 4268 standard permits the use of ETSI standards published in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJ) or valid fcc standards for testing. For products with specific frequency bands and technologies, such as those using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi technologies, the AS/NZS 4268:2017+A1:2021 standard shall be adopted for testing.

Testing Items

Testing items include but are not limited to:

① Battery testing under extreme test conditions

② RF device classification testing

③ Operation frequency band limitation and automatic shutdown function testing of UWB vehicle radar transmitters

III. Application Process for the Test Report

1. Fill in the Application Form

Submit a detailed application form containing product information, testing requirements, etc.

2. Provide Test Samples

One fixed-frequency sample and one mass-production sample are required.

3. Conduct Testing

JJR Laboratory carries out testing in accordance with the AS/NZS 4268 standard or equivalent ETSI/fcc standards.

4. Issue the Draft Test Report

Upon completion of testing, JJR Laboratory will issue a draft of the AS/NZS 4268 test report for customer confirmation.

5. Formal Report Issuance and Document Delivery

After the customer confirms that there are no errors, JJR Laboratory will arrange the issuance of the official electronic version of the AS/NZS 4268 test report.
