Movable indoor electric heaters include baseboard heaters, oil-filled radiators, and radiant heaters (e.g., small sun-type heaters).

Electric heaters use electricity as the primary energy source and employ heating methods such as resistance heating, induction heating, arc heating, electron beam heating, infraRED heating, and dielectric heating. They provide warmth to the human body through direct contact, warm air convection, and far-infrared radiation.

For cross-border e-commerce exports of electric heaters to the U.S., they must pass safety tests in accordance with the UL1278:2020 standard. A test report issued by an ISO 17025-certified CNAS laboratory must be uploaded to the compliance documents of the platform before the product can be sold on U.S. e-commerce platforms.

The United States has very strict safety requirements. Domestic electronic product manufacturers in the U.S. have been required to comply with safety regulations for many years. However, as Amazon’s global business influence continues to grow, foreign electronic products are increasingly entering the U.S. market through the platform. The U.S. does not impose mandatory safety tests on foreign electronic product manufacturers.

To address this, U.S. authorities have issued specific laws for e-commerce, requiring Amazon to notify foreign e-commerce sellers of the need to provide relevant safety compliance reports. Until a UL-standard test report is submitted, Amazon is obligated to suspend sales of the product. Additionally, the test report must be issued by an ISO 17025/ILAC ISO 17025-accredited laboratory to be considered valid.

UL Standard Test Report Application Process:

1. The applicant company consults and submits a request.

2. The applicant company fills out an application form and provides manuals and technical documents to the laboratory.

3. The laboratory determines the testing standards and items based on the seller's platform and product category, then provides a quotation.

4. The applicant company confirms the quotation, and both parties sign an agreement.

5. The applicant company sends product samples and supporting documents.

6. The laboratory conducts tests on the samples and issues a ul report upon passing.
