Note: Compliance document requirements vary depending on the product type. Please review the Compliance Requirements section below to determine whether you must submit documentation through a Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) service provider or directly to Amazon.
You must submit the following information directly to Amazon:
Enhanced Compliance: The product must comply with product category policies that have enhanced compliance requirements.
Certificate of Insurance (COI): A valid insurance certificate submitted through Commercial Insurance Verification on Seller Central.
You must partner with an authorized third-party Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) service provider capable of conducting direct product verification to validate all notified ASINs.
If you have existing documentation: Submit it to the Amazon-authorized TIC service provider. They will review the documents and determine if they align with Amazon’s policy guidelines.
If you do not have existing documentation, or need new product testing: Send your product samples to the TIC service provider. They will conduct testing in accordance with the applicable standards.
To verify existing documentation, you must submit the following information to your TIC service provider:
Test Reports: Issued by a CPSC-accepted (Consumer Product Safety Commission) laboratory, proving that the product complies with 16 CFR Part 1632 and 16 CFR Part 1633 requirements.
General Certificate of Conformity (GCC): A certificate certifying that the product complies with 16 CFR Part 1632 and 16 CFR Part 1633 requirements.
CPSC-Accepted Test Reports: Proving the product complies with the following regulations (as applicable):
cpsia requirements: Total Lead and Phthalates content limits.
CPSA Section 14(a)(5): Tracking Label requirements.
Children’s Product Certificate (CPC): A certificate certifying compliance with all applicable children's product safety rules.
While federal regulations may allow certain alternative testing methodologies—such as certifications, representative testing, or component testing—Amazon strictly requires additional third-party testing, verification, or monitoring through an Amazon-authorized TIC provider.
Mandatory Physical Testing: Regardless of whether you have previously submitted relevant documents, Amazon still requires physical testing of at least one mattress sample using the methods specified in 16 CFR Part 1633 to prove compliance.
ASIN and Size Variations: Mattress ASINs and size variations must be individually tested or verified before they can be reinstated for sale. Testing only proves compliance for variations that differ in length and width but share identical depth.
Next Steps: Please coordinate directly with your designated TIC provider to confirm sample requirements, arrange testing, and manage the submission of compliance results.
