What Certifications Are Required for Lighting Exports?

According to China Customs statistics, the total export value of China's lighting products in 2022 reached USD 56.1 billion. In terms of market structure, the United States and North American markets, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) markets, Germany and the European Union markets, as well as the UK and Middle Eastern markets remain the primary export destinations for China's lighting products.

 

So, what certifications are needed to export lighting products to major markets?

Lighting products intended for export to most countries around the world must comply with all mandatory electrical safety testing standards. For exports to Europe, CE and ROHS certifications are generally sufficient.

 

Certifications Required for Lighting Product Exports to Different Markets:

01. European Market

CE certification, CE-LVD, GS Certification, TUV-Mark Certification, cb certification, Nordic certifications (Nemko, Semko, Fimko, Demko), BSI, GOST, OVE, IMQ, KEMA, and other national certification marks in Europe.

 

02. Asian Market

KC, EK-Mark, MIC, PSE-Mark (diamond and round), PSB Certification, SASO Certification, CCC Certification, CQC certification, bsmi Certification, KUCAS Certification, etc.

 

03. North American Market

UL + CUL, CEC, cTUVus, cETLus, cCSAus, etc.

 

04. South American Market

IRAM Certification, nom certification, etc.

 

05. Australian Market

SAA, etc.

 

06. African Market

SONCAP Certification, SABS Certification, PVOC Certification, etc.

 

EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) Certification Items:

01. European Market

CE (EMC, RTTE), E/e-Mark, and other national EMC certification marks in Europe.

 

02. Asian Market

MIC Certification, vcci certification, etc.

 

03. North American Market

FCC (Verification, DoC, ID), Canadian IC (ICES), etc.
