What is Malaysia's SIRIM certification?

SIRIM is the only guiding certification body in Malaysia. Any factory or company can apply to SIRIM and undergo audits according to recognized standards under the product certification system to obtain recognition. These certifications are voluntary, but in many cases, government regULations may require mandatory certification.

There are various types of products in Malaysia that need to comply with the requirements of the IECEE CB system. The MS mark and the ST mark are voluntary and mandatory safety marks, respectively, for products exported to Malaysia.

Scope of Malaysia sirim certification:

Communications equipment and more than 30 other types of products specified in the "Electrical Equipment Approval Regulations" require mandatory type approval and safety certification: plugs (below 15 A), switches and dimmers, sockets, fluorescent lamp holders and starters, ceiling lamp holders, bayonet lamp holders and multiple socket outlets, fluorescent lamps, capacitors for fluorescent lamps, fluorescent lamp ballasts, residual current devices, electric water heaters, hair dryers, desk lamps, liquid heaters, electric irons, electric shavers, kitchen food mixers, immersion heaters, hi-fi devices, mosquito repellents, toasters, electric fans, televisions, vacuum cleaners, players, washing machines, refrigerators, rice cookers, Christmas lights, household power tools, wires, and cables. Other products fall under the category of voluntary certification.
