What is TEMU U.S. Agent Compliance | JJR LAB

TEMU U.S. Agent, U.S. Agent Compliance, TEMU U.S. Agent Compliance

TEMU U.S. AR compliance ensures CPC-certified children’s products meet FDA/CPSC Standards. JJR Lab provides testing, covering safety, materials, and labeling.

Recently, TEMU issued another compliance notice, highlighting that U.S. market regulations and consumer protection require a U.S. Authorized Representative (U.S. AR). Therefore, sellers need to immediately appoint a U.S. AR to meet regulatory requirements.

To ensure children’s products can be sold smoothly in the U.S. market, sellers must maintain CPC certificates for products that do not yet have U.S. AR information in the system by March 31. Starting in April, any products with historical CPC certificates that have not updated U.S. AR information may be removed from the U.S. site.

Note:TEMU has been performing U.S. AR checks since the end of last year. Please ensure that the U.S. AR information is authentic and valid. The information must include: name, address, and phone number. Eligible sellers should update their CPC certificates as soon as possible.

What is a U.S. Authorized Representative (U.S. AR)?

A U.S. AR is similar to the eu authorized representative (EU AR). It is an individual or organization located in the U.S., appointed by a foreign (non-U.S.) manufacturer, to communicate and coordinate with relevant U.S. regulatory authorities and fulfill specific legal obligations.

- The U.S. AR cannot be an individual; it must be a long-term, stable organization or company with a commercial presence in the U.S., capable of 24/7 communication with market supervision authorities.

- According to FDA, FCC, CPSC, and other U.S. regulations, sellers of medical devices, cosmetics, food, drugs, laser products, wireless products, children’s toys, and maternal & infant products must register before entering the U.S. market and designate a U.S. AR to handle emergencies and daily affairs.

- When exporting children’s toys, electronics, etc., U.S. customs and regulatory authorities may conduct random inspections and request U.S. AR information. Failure to provide it may result in confiscation, lawsuits, fines, sales bans, or account restrictions.

How to Complete U.S. AR Compliance

To meet TEMU platform compliance requirements, sellers should follow these steps:

1. Choose a reliable service provider:

Visit “Seller Center → Compliance Service Marketplace” to find agencies that provide U.S. AR services. (JJR LAB offers reliable and efficient U.S. AR compliance services.)

2. Submit required documents:

Include manufacturer information, product details, registration certificates, and production qualifications to ensure completeness and accuracy.

3. Sign a formal agreement:

Enter a one-year agreement with the U.S. AR to ensure CPC certificates remain valid, and plan renewals in advance.

4. Update information on the platform:

Submit U.S. AR information to the CPC agency, update the CPC certificate, and upload it to the platform to ensure smooth product listing.

Once U.S. AR compliance is completed, transmit the information to the CPC agency and add it to the CPC certificate under the field: “Identification of the domestic manufacturer or importer certifying compliance of the product.”

Formatting Notes:

- The CPC certificate must include the U.S. AR’s English name, address, and phone number for system recognition.

- Only update the CPC certificate; there is no need to update test reports. Product packaging and the product itself do not require changes.

Where to update:

- Go to Compliance Center → Qualification Upload to view CPC products and upload updates.

- Alternatively, filter products in the product list that have CPC qualifications and inventory, then prioritize updating these SKCIDs.

How to Identify CPC Certificates That Need U.S. AR Updates

Step 1:

Seller backend → Product Management → Product List → Filter by qualification type “CPC”, inventory > 1, and active status. Copy SPUs that require updates.

Step 2:

Seller backend → Compliance Center → Qualification Upload → Paste SPUs → Select qualification type “CPC” → Click “View Qualification” for the corresponding products → Re-upload CPC certificates with U.S. AR information → Submit and track audit status.

- Ensure the Test Reportis complete, including product information, testing standards, results, sample photos, and laboratory signature/stamp.
