What is the U.S. NRTL Certification?

Views :
Update time : 2025-11-10

NRTL stands for Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory, a designation managed by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) under the U.S. Department of Labor. OSHA requires that products used in workplaces must be tested and certified by an NRTL to ensure the safety of users. In North America, manufacturers must rigorously test their products according to national standards to sell them legally in the market. Only products that pass the relevant tests conducted by an NRTL can be legally sold in the marketplace.

An NRTL is a third-party organization that certifies products for the North American market. Recognized by OSHA under 29 CFR 1910.7 of the U.S. Federal Code, NRTLs provide safety testing and certification services for products intended for use in U.S. workplaces. In Canada, similar services are provided by organizations accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC).

JJR: Dual Accreditation by OSHA and SCC

JJR is an organization accredited by both OSHA and SCC for North American safety certification.

- JJR’s safety certification mark signifies compliance with U.S. and Canadian safety certification requirements, offering efficient and reliable safety testing and certification services for North America.

- Products bearing the safety certification mark can be sold directly in U.S. and Canadian markets.
