Update time : 2025-01-02

A mobile phone charger is an electronic device accessory, primarily designed to convert the AC power from the grid into DC power suitable for charging phones. The ul1310 standard is a safety standard established for Class 2 power supplies. If products like mobile phone chargers undergo electrical safety, fire prevention, electric shock protection, and other related tests in accordance with UL1310 standards, and meet the corresponding testing requirements, the testing institution or laboratory will issue a UL1310 report.

UL1310 covers safety instructions for Class 2 power supplies and battery chargers used in indoor and outdoor environments. These power supplies and battery chargers have a maximum ground potential of 150V for AC branch circuits.

The UL1310 Class 2 power supply standard applies to power supplies with limited output current and voltage ranges.

The Class 2 standard is specified under the UL1310 standard number. To achieve UL Class 2 certification, the power supply’s output current must not exceed 8A, and the output voltage must not exceed 30VDC.

Main testing items for UL1310 power supply certification:

1. Leakage test;

2. Maximum output voltage test;

3. Maximum input test;

4. Output current and power test;

5. Humidity test;

6. Full load output current test;

7. Normal temperature test;

8. Dielectric strength test;

9. Overheat and overload protection durability test;

10. Normal and abnormal tests;

11. Insulation material test;

12. Strain relief test;

13. Plug pin fixing force test for directly-pluggable products, push-pull force test;

14. Additional outdoor product tests – waterproof, rain test, etc.

Main UL certification testing standards:

1. Mobile power: ul2056; ul2054;

2. Car chargers: UL2089;

3. Power supplies for information products: UL62368, ul60950-1;

4. Power supplies for audio and video products: UL62368, UL60065;

5. Safety low voltage power supplies (including chargers): UL1310;

6. Non-safety low voltage power supplies (including chargers): UL1012.

Difference between UL certification and ul report:

UL certification is a UL certificate issued by the Underwriters Laboratories, which requires testing and factory audit. It is reviewed every quarter and is primarily used for importing into the North American market and customs clearance. It is costly and time-consuming.

A UL report is a ul testing report issued by an ISO17025 laboratory. The laboratory tests the product according to the relevant UL standards and issues a test report once it meets the requirements. The cycle is shorter, and the cost is lower. It is mainly used for Amazon and cross-border e-commerce products.
