wercs certification is a product registration and certification process requiRED for products entering large supermarkets and retailers in countries such as the United States and Canada.
It is a supply chain safety management system developed by The WERCSin the U.S., designed for medium and large retailers.

This supply chain safety management system allows:
- Unified and efficient management of large supplier networks and products.
- Evaluation and arrangement of target and existing products for easier screening.
- Fast and convenient access to accurate compliance and sustainability data through an industry-leading retail program.
The system provides suppliers with a secure and intuitive way to submit and edit critical product and cheMICal composition data necessary for hazard communication. This data is directly transmitted to retailers through supplier product registration.
Such an authoritative review and certification program simplifies and facilitates cooperation between suppliers and retailers. Suppliers registered with WERCSmartare undoubtedly preferred procurement partners for retailers.
The WERCS system applies to a wide range of products, including but not limited to:
- Crafts
- Motor vehicle-related products
- Batteries
- Cleaning products
- Electronics and electrical products
- Daily necessities
- Health and beauty products
- Home décor items
- Tool components
- Gardening tools
- Miscellaneous goods
- Nutritional supplements
- Pet care products
- Pharmaceuticals
- Photography equipment
- Sports equipment
- Stationery
- Toys, etc.
a. Batteries not sold directly to retailers
These batteries are installed in other electronic products that are sold under separate brands.
They do not have UPC/GTIN codes and are registered in the WERCSmart system by the battery supplier so that other electronic product suppliers can link to the battery information during their own registration process.
b. Batteries sold directly to retailers
These batteries have UPC/GTIN codes and must be registered in the WERCS system. The system will automatically transfer the relevant information to the designated downstream retailers specified during registration.
Registration for electronic products containing batteries involves two steps:
a.The battery supplier first registers the battery information in the WERCSmart system and adds the supplier’s name to the WERCS battery supplier list. (If mULtiple battery suppliers are involved, each must register independently.)
b.The electronic product supplier then registers the electronic product. During the process, they must select and link the battery information from the list of registered battery suppliers.
From this, it can be seen that for electronic products containing batteries, SDS (Safety Data Sheet) control focuses primarily on the battery.
1. Bilingual SDS report (English and French)
2. Air transport information(such as un38.3 test report and summary, if available)
3. Bilingual label (English and French)– our company can assist with preparation
4. Client’s company email and password(registered on WERCS) – this account will be used to submit the application, allowing the client to view their application status directly.
