Introduction to Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7:

Wi-Fi 6E

Wi-Fi 6E is an extension of Wi-Fi 6 into the 6 GHz frequency band. The "6" in "Wi-Fi 6E" refers to the sixth generation of Wi-Fi technology, and "E" stands for "Extended," indicating the use of a new frequency band, which provides significant advantages. Similar to existing Wi-Fi bands, the new spectrum and its usage policies vary depending on geographical location and regulations. Currently, the 6 GHz spectrum ranges from 5.925 GHz to 6.425 GHz in the European market, and from 5.925 GHz to 7.125 GHz in the U.S. market.

 

Wi-Fi 7

The latest Wi-Fi technology, Wi-Fi 7, is set to be adopted in 2024, having undergone extensive development since 2021. Known as 802.11be, Wi-Fi 7 doubles the bandwidth with a channel width of 320 MHz. With a fourfold increase in QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) and additional spatial streams, it delivers throughput speeds of up to 30 Gbps, operating across all three bands: 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz.
