What is SRRC certification?

For walkie-talkie products sold in the Chinese domestic market, SRRC certification is required. SRRC is a mandatory certification requirement by the State Radio RegULation of China. Since June 1, 1999, the Ministry of Information Industry (MII) of China has mandated that all radio components products sold and used in China must obtain Radio Type Approval Certification. This certification requires domestically produced and sold radio transmission products to have a 'Radio Transmission Equipment Model Approval Certificate.' Otherwise, they are not allowed to be listed for sale. Manufacturers must indicate the model approval code on the label of the walkie-talkie when it leaves the factory.

Documents required for walkie-talkie SRRC certification:

1. Application form (two copies);

2. Power of attorney (two copies);

3. Client's business license;

4. Prototype, quantity varies depending on the product, including three to five units with RF leads (RF port or SMA port);

5. Client's ISO certificate or company profile and company capability description;

6. Product specifications, circuit diagrams, manuals, block diagrams, operating instructions, etc.;

7. Antenna gain and antenna pattern;

8. Test direction;

9. Company's business license (annual inspection must not expire);

10. Three color photos of the EUT (must include all interfaces and sides);

11. Frequency channel correlation table (only required if there are many working channels, such as products using DSSS or FHSS modes).

SRRC certification test contents:

1. RMS phase error; frequency tolerance; power control;

2. RF output modulation spectrum; conducted spurious emission;

3. Peak phase error; maximum average power;

4. Transient time power relationship; RF output switching spectrum;

5. Static reference sensitivity; radiated spurious emission.

Low-power (short-distance) radio devices do not require SRRC certification. For example, toys using 27MHz or 40MHz for remote-controlled aircraft or cars do not need to apply for Radio Type Approval Certification. However, attention should still be paid to national standards requirements for electric toy products, including those using Bluetooth and WIFI technologies.
