Purpose: Regulates tip-over prevention, entrapment prevention, and structural safety

The climate chamber formaldehyde test is not a standard, but a testing method.
Corresponding standard: 40 CFR Part 770 (U.S. Formaldehyde Regulations for Composite Wood Products)
Target: Composite wood furniture such as wood-based panels, MDF, particleboard, plywood, etc.
Method: Place panels in a constant temperature and humidity climate chamber to measure formaldehyde emission
Purpose: Prove formaldehyde emissions do not exceed limits
Amazon requirement: A formaldehyde test report using the climate chamber method must be provided if composite wood panels are used.
Warnings must be conspicuous, permanent, and not placed on the back, and include at least the following (examples):
• Always install the supplied tip-over restraint device
• Never place a television on top
• Do not allow children to climb, stand, or hang on drawers / doors
• Do not open multiple drawers simultaneously
• Place heaviest items on the lowest shelf
If composite wood panels are used, a formaldehyde-related safety warning must be added, along with chemical notices for lead, mercury, etc.
Additional requirement for children’s models:
CPSIA tracking label must be permanently affixed to both the product and packaging.
