Scope of ul1310 Standard

UL1310 Class 2 Power Units

Class 2 power supplies for indoor and outdoor use; plug-in, cord-connected, and permanently connected types.

Applicable to 120V-240V, 15A or 20A branch circuits, or DC input, with input power not exceeding 660W under any load conditions.

Class 2 indicates limited output voltage, power, and current.

Technical Documents RequiRED for UL1310 Certification of Power Supplies

1. Product specification / user manual;

2. Circuit schematic, PCB layout;

3. Mechanical dimension drawing;

4. Inductor and transformer specifications;

5. BOM list;

6. Key components list;

7. Labels, etc.

Main Test Items for UL1310 Certification of Power Supplies

1. Leakage current test;

3. Maximum output voltage test;

4. Maximum input test;

5. Output current and power test;

6. Humidity test;

7. Full-load output current test;

8. Normal temperature test;

9. Withstand voltage test;

10. Endurance test of overheat and overload protection devices;

13. Normal and abnormal test;

15. Insulation material test;

16. Strain relief test;

17. Blade retention test and push-pull test for plug-in products;

18. Additional tests for outdoor products – waterproof test, rain test, etc.

Procedure for UL1310 Certification of Power Supplies

1. Project Confirmation: Confirm the applicable UL standard, certification cost and lead time, sample quantity, etc.;

2. Document Preparation: The manufacturer prepares all required documents in accordance with UL requirements;

3. Sample Submission & Testing: The manufacturer sends samples to JJR Testing Laboratory for product testing;

4. Report Issuance: A formal test report is issued if the test results meet UL standard requirements;

5. Factory Inspection: UL conducts the initial factory inspection to ensure compliance with standards;

6. Mark Authorization: Upon successful inspection, the applicant is officially authorized to use the UL mark.

Notes

UL certification requires factory inspections.

After the initial UL certification application, the manufacturer may arrange shipments only after passing the initial factory inspection, to ensure continuous compliance with UL requirements and consistency between mass-produced products and tested samples.

For subsequent certifications, prior factory inspection is not required before shipment.

UL annual follow-up inspections are conducted once per quarter, four times per year.
