Amazon US has recently introduced the TIC Direct Validation policy, which has become a hot topic in the cross-border e-commerce community!
Amazon announced that starting from September, the "Direct Validation" system will be mandatory for the Children's Toys category. Sellers are requiRED to complete product compliance verification through Amazon-recognized testing, inspection, and Tic certification service providers. Failure to verify on time may resULt in the listing being removed.
This system applies to Amazon sites in the US, Canada, UK, and 8 EU countries(Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Italy, Sweden). The verification results will be submitted directly to Amazon by the service providers.
1. Sellers no longer need to upload compliance reports manually.
2. Products in the Children's Toys category must undergo compliance testing/certification directly through Amazon-recognized TIC service providers.
3. Test and verification results are submitted directly to Amazon by TIC providers; sellers cannot upload results manually.
- Verification passed: If the results meet Amazon policies, the product automatically gains selling eligibility without any additional action.
- Verification failed: If verification is not initiated/completed or results do not meet policy requirements, the product listing may be removed.
The TIC review process is a verification mechanism set up by Amazon to ensure product compliance. It must be completed through designated third-party testing institutions. The detailed process is as follows:
1. Submit Testing Request:
On the Amazon Seller Central "Manage Your Compliance" page, select the ASINs to be tested, choose a TIC provider, and submit the testing request. The system will automatically generate a TRF numberfor progress tracking.
2. Institution Review or Testing:
After receiving the request, the TIC provider will contact the seller for report submission. If re-testing is required, physical samples must be shipped. The review/testing cycle usually takes 5–7 business days.
- Laboratory qualifications:
- US: Laboratories must have ISO 17025 and CPSC dual qualifications.
- EU: Laboratories must have ISO 17025 certification.
3. Result Synchronization to Amazon:
Once the review is complete, the TIC provider directly uploads the results to Amazon. Sellers cannot upload files manually but can check the status on the "Manage Your Compliance" page.
4. Handling Review Results:
- If approved: The product is marked compliant and can continue to sell.
- If not approved: Sellers must provide additional materials or retest. Disputes can be submitted via the appeal function.
- Consistency Requirement: Supplier addresses in the test report must match the manufacturer address listed on Amazon. SKU, model, and other information must correspond exactly.
- Report Validity: Reports must be within a one-year validity period, covering all product materials and colors, with continuous and complete test clauses.
If there is any doubt regarding testing requirements, sellers can use the "Appeal Request" function to explain the situation and attach evidence, avoiding product delisting due to compliance issues.
The new Amazon toy regulations require full testing of all applicable points. Sellers should choose laboratories with ISO 17025 and CPSC dual qualificationsfor testing, then submit to TIC for review.
