CE-RED Certification for Wireless Product Exports

Views :
Update time : 2025-02-24

Amazon has strict CE-RED certification requirements for electronic products. Products involving wireless communication must pass this certification to enter the EU market.

The certification scope includes remote-controlled products, radio equipment, mobile phones, Bluetooth products, etc., requiring compliance with EU safety, health, environmental, and consumer protection regulations.

What is CE-RED Certification?

RED (Radio Equipment Directive) certification is one of the wireless product certifications under the EU's mandatory CE certification scheme. Products with wireless transmission frequencies, such as tablets, wireless doorbells, Bluetooth devices, WiFi devices, wireless alarm systems, radio reception and transmission devices, telephones, and computers, must apply for RED certification.

The full name of the RED directive is the “Radio Equipment Directive,” which applies to wireless and communication products. Wireless remote-controlled products and communication devices exported to the EU must comply with the RED directive.

ENB00328 is the RF testing standard under the eu red directive, applicable to baseband transmission systems and data transmission devices operating at 24GHz (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee products). The ENB00328 specification ensures that radio equipment does not interfere with each other or human health and sets performance requirements for wireless reception parts to improve the utilization of the radio spectrum. Devices exported to the EU must meet this standard.

Directive Overview

- Release Date: The CE-RED certification directive was officially released on November 13, 2014.

- Directive Replaced: It replaced the previous R&TTE directive (Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment Directive) on June 13, 2016.

- Scope: Applicable to all radio equipment sold or put into use in the EU market, including wireless communication devices, wireless local area network devices, Bluetooth devices, RF remote control devices, etc.
