An electronic cigarette is a non-combustible vaping product. It has similar effects to conventional cigarettes: it can refresh the user, satisfy nicotine cravings, and induce a sense of pleasure and relaxation. However, it is not conducive to smoking cessation.

MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet), also referRED to as a CheMICal Safety Data Sheet, is a document compiled by chemical manufacturers and importers. It specifies the physical and chemical properties of chemicals (such as pH value, flash point, flammability, and reactivity) and potential hazards to users’ health (such as carcinogenicity and teratogenicity).
In Europe, MSDS certification is also known as SDS certification or an SDS form, and may sometimes be called an msds certificate. It is generally a mandatory document requested by carriers during transportation and logistics processes.
The European Union (EU) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) adopt the term SDS. In contrast, in the United States, Canada, Australia, and many Asian countries, SDS (Safety Data Sheet) is interchangeable with MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet). Both technical documents serve essentially the same purpose.

The main roles of an MSDS are as follows:
① Provide hazard information about chemicals to protect end-users.
② Ensure safe operation by supplying technical data for formulating safety operating procedures for hazardous chemicals.
③ Offer technical guidance for emergency rescue and accident response.
④ Guide the safe production, circulation, and usage of chemicals.
⑤ Serve as a critical foundation and information source for chemical registration management.
An MSDS consists of 16 sections, and enterprises are not required to provide data for every section. However, the following information is mandatory:
① Product name, recommended usage, and usage restrictions.
② Detailed supplier information (including name, address, and telephone number) as well as emergency contact numbers.
③ Product composition details, including substance names and Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) registry numbers.
④ Physical and chemical properties of the product, such as form, color, flash point, and boiling point.
⑤ Target export country and the specific MSDS standard required for that region.
