Update time : 2025-04-23

UL 1017 is a safety standard established by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) for power tools and equipment. It applies to vacuum cleaners, blower vacuums, household floor cleaners, and similar products, including both residential and commercial electric cleaning equipment. However, it does not apply to electrical appliances with a rated voltage greater than 250 volts or those used in special areas such as hospitals and laboratories.

UL 1017 is the safety standard for automotive vacuum cleaners in the North American market. This standard sets electrical safety requirements for automotive vacuums, including insulation resistance, grounding protection, electrical clearance, etc. Only automotive vacuum cleaners that meet the UL 1017 standard are allowed to be sold on North American markets like Amazon. By obtaining the UL 1017 report, automotive vacuum cleaners can ensure they meet the strict electrical safety requirements of the North American market, thereby REDucing safety risks during use.

UL 1017 Standard Testing Items for Vacuum Cleaners:

1. High Voltage Test

2. Leakage Current Test

3. Oven Aging Test

4. Pressure Drop Test

5. Temperature Test

6. Overload Test

7. Current Limiting Device Performance

8. Hose Crush Resistance Test

9. Temperature Aging Test

10. Bending Test

12. Water Wash Test

Before submitting the UL standard test report, Amazon requires sellers to stop selling the product. The test report must be a qualified report issued by an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory.

Process for Obtaining the UL 1017 Vacuum Cleaner Test Report:

1. Determine the product testing standards.

2. Complete the testing application form and sign the contract.

3. Arrange for sample submission.

4. The China JJR laboratory conducts testing, and an electronic draft report is issued within 7 working days.

5. The customer confirms the draft, and the official report is issued.
