Singapore PSB Certification

The Singapore Safety Markis a mandatory certification mark issued by the Product Safety Bureau of Singapore (PSB) for products that meet safety standards.

PSB aims to ensure that products comply with Singapore’s safety standards and regULatory requirements. The certification is based on international standards and requirements of standardization organizations, integrating market needs, technological developments, and management concepts to form a comprehensive certification framework.

This framework includes product testing, system review, and certificate issuance, ensuring that products and services meet relevant standards. PSB certification is mandatory for regulated electrical products, which must obtain PSB certification before being sold in Singapore.

- Issuing Authority:Product Standards Bureau, Singapore

- Validity:3 years

- Application Requirement:Must be applied by a company registeRED in Singapore; each certificate covers only a single product model.

Categories for PSB Certification

Electrical and Electronic Products

One of the main categories. Testing standards vary depending on the type of product.

Building Materials

Includes cement, concrete, steel, etc. Tests cover physical and mechanical properties, heavy metal content, cheMICal properties, thermal and electrical characteristics, etc.

Automobiles and Auto Parts

- Whole vehicles: channel and vehicle certification

- Parts: stricter standards, including dimensions, physical properties, corrosion resistance, and materials

Medical Devices

Testing covers design, development, production documentation control, guidance document review, and CMDD (simulated data design space), among other aspects.

Food and Beverages

Products must meet Singapore food safety standards, ensuring that ingredients, additives, production environment, and packaging comply with hygiene and quality requirements to protect consumer health.

Chemical Products

Includes industrial chemicals, cleaning agents, coatings, pesticides, etc. PSB certification requires compliance with Singapore environmental and health safety standards to prevent harm to humans or the ecosystem.

2. Product label (single model only; series not accepted)

3. Circuit diagrams and layout

4. Bill of materials (BOM)

5. Architecture/engineering drawings and parts list

6. English user manual

7. Color photos of the product (external and internal, especially critical safety components)

8. Additional information: details of Singapore importer or agent, including name, address, and contact person

PSB Certification Process

1. Prepare Documents:Ensure all materials are authentic, valid, and compliant with Singapore market requirements.

2. Testing and Evaluation:Conduct required tests in accredited laboratories to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
