What is the Singapore PSB Certificate?

The Singapore PSB Certificate is a certification mark issued by the Product Safety Authority of Singapore, designed to ensure that products comply with Singapore’s safety standards and regULatory requirements. The PSB Certificate is based on international standards and the requirements of standardization organizations, integrating market demand, technological development, and management concepts to form a systematic certification framework. This framework includes product testing, system assessment, and certificate issuance, ensuring that products and services meet the relevant standards. The PSB Certificate is a mandatory safety certification in Singapore, requiRED for listed electrical products before they can be sold in the Singapore market.

 

Certified Product Catalogue:

Under CPSR, there are 33 controlled product categories. According to CPSR requirements, these 33 types of products are classified as controlled goods and must undergo supplier registration and product registration. Products must be tested by designated third-party Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) and comply with specified safety standards.

 

The 33 product types are categorized into 3 risk levels: Low Risk, Medium Risk, and High Risk.

 

Low Risk:

1. Air cooler

2. Fuse (≤13 amperes) for use in a plug

3. Room air-conditioner

4. Table lamp / Standing lamp

 

Medium Risk:

1. AC adaptors

2. Audio and video products

3. Coffee maker, slow cooker, steamboat, and similar appliances

4. Decorative lighting chain

5. Fans

6. Gas canister

7. Hair care appliances

8. Home computer system (including monitor, printer, speaker, and other mains-operated accessories)

9. Iron

10. Isolating transformer for downlight fitting

11. Kitchen machines

12. Lamp control gears

13. Liquid heating appliance

14. MICrowave oven

15. Multi-way adaptor

16. Portable socket-outlet

17. Residual Current Circuit Breaker (RCCB)

18. Rice cooker

19. Stationary cooking appliances

20. Toaster, grill, roaster, hot plate, deep fryer, wok, and similar appliances

21. Vacuum cleaner

22. Washing machine

23. 3-pin mains plug

 

High Risk:

1. Components of Liquefied Petroleum Gas system

2. Domestic electric wall switch

3. Gas cooking appliances

4. Mains socket-outlets

5. Refrigerators

6. Water heaters

 

Basic Information About the PSB Certificate:

1. Nature of Certificate: Mandatory

2. Validity: 3 years

3. Processing Time: 2–3 weeks

4. Local Representative: Required; the certificate must be held by a Singapore company

5. Single Model Application: Each PSB certificate applies to a single model only

 

Required Documentation for Certification:

1. Authorization letter

2. CB report and certificate (with Singapore deviations)

3. Product label

4. English user manual

5. Bill of Materials (BOM)

6. Circuit diagram

7. Agent information (company name, address, contact person, phone number, email, position). If using our company, this information is not required.

Certificate Logo:

For the 33 product types regulated by CPSR, a safety mark must be affixed to the product or its packaging. The mark consists of a “Safety Mark” symbol and the words “SAFETY MARK” inside a rectangle on the right side. These goods can also be traced to the registrant and registered model via a unique 8-digit registration number.

 

How to get the Singapore PSB Certificate?(图2)


The following requirements must be followed:

1. The color must be Pantone 032C.

2. If the mark and background color are the same, the minimum height of the Safety Mark symbol must be no less than 9.5 mm, and the certificate number must be no less than 2.8 mm.

3. If the mark and background color are different, the minimum height of the Safety Mark symbol must be no less than 6 mm, and the certificate number must be no less than 1.6 mm.

4. The logo must be scaled proportionally.

5. Special marking requirements apply to products such as adapters, 3-pin sockets, and converters.
