Tablet PCs are familiar to everyone. They are small, portable personal computers that use touchscreens as their primary input devices. Equipped with touchscreens (also known as digitizer technology), they allow users to operate with a stylus or digital pen instead of a traditional keyboard or mouse.
IC is the abbreviation for Industry Canada, a government agency responsible for the certification of electronic and electrical products entering the Canadian market. The products under its jurisdiction mainly include: broadcasting and television equipment, information technology equipment, radio equipment, telecommunication equipment, industrial, scientific and medical equipment, etc. Similar to the fcc in the United States, IC currently only imposes restrictions on electromagnetic interference.
For tablet PCs exported to Canada, the applicable standard is RSS-247, which is a test standard formULated by Canada for wireless products and a specific standard under IC certification.
1. The standards for IC certification are basically consistent with those of the FCC, and IC currently only restricts electromagnetic interference.
2. ICES-001: Analog Equipment – Industrial, Scientific and Medical Radio Frequency Generators.
3. ICES-003: Digital Terminal Equipment – Interference-Causing Equipment Standards-Digital Apparatus, e.g., ICES-003: ITE: Products and computer peripheral office equipment, etc.
4. IC RSS Series: Low-power radio frequency products for transmitting and receiving equipment. For example, RSS 210 applies to products such as wireless MICe and keyboards, wireless remote control toys, and various low-power radio frequency products; CS03 (telecommunication terminal equipment PSTN).
For instance, ICES-003: ITE covers products and computer peripheral office equipment, while the IC RSS Series covers low-power radio frequency products. Examples include RSS 210, applicable to wireless mice and keyboards, wireless remote control toys, and various low-power radio frequency products. CS03 (PSTN telecommunication terminal products) is certified by Canadian FCBs, which are equivalent to TCBs in the United States. FCBs can issue both ic certificates and ic ids. Generally, IC, VCCI, MIC, and bsmi certificates can be directly converted when applying for CE and fcc certifications. CSA and cUL pertain to safety compliance in Canada, while IC relates to electromagnetic compatibility.
5. ICES-001: Analog Equipment
6. ICES-003: Digital Terminal Equipment
7. RSS Series: Transmitting and Receiving Equipment
Note: IC certification is mandatory in Canada, and fcc certificates are accepted.
8. Submit samples, application forms and relevant documents;
2. Arrange testing;
3. Notify the client of rectification if the test fails; compile a test report and issue a certificate if the test passes;
4. Collect the certificate and report upon full payment of the balance.
