gcc certification, also known as the General Product Certificate, is a certification set by the US CPSC for most types of products entering the US market. Clothing products sold on US platforms must complete GCC 16CFR 1610 and upload the gcc certificate to show that their products comply with specific safety standards and regULatory requirements.

The 16CFR 1610 Standard "Flammability Testing of Textiles" applies to all types of textile fabrics (whether natural or synthetic fibers), and various clothing items (including tops, bottoms, one-piece suits, coats). This standard does not apply to hats, gloves, shoes, socks, or linings and similar products.

Standard Classification:

a) Level 1: General flammability, textile type: No pile or other types of surface pile, applicable to clothing;

b) Level 2: Moderate flammability, textile type: Has pile, tufted, or other types of surface pile, applicable to velvety textiles, applicable to clothing;

c) Level 3: Rapid and intense combustion, textile type: Has pile/fibrils or other types of surface pile, no pile or other types of surface pile.

Note: Level 3 combustion is consideRED non-compliant and prohibited from being imported into the US.

Specific Requirements for gcc certification:

Flammability Standard: Clothing must comply with US strict flammability regulations, such as 16 CFR Part 1610, ensuring that indicators such as burn rate meet qualifications under specific testing conditions. This usually requires the clothing to not burn up within 3.5 seconds to be considered compliant.

Composition Labeling Requirements: The clothing must accurately label the fiber composition, including the percentage of fiber content, to allow consumers to understand the material and quality traceability of the clothing.

Care Labeling Requirements: Clothing must include care labels, indicating the correct washing, drying, ironing, and other care methods to prevent damage or safety hazards due to improper care.

Clothing GCC Certification Process:

1. Fill out the application form.

2. Ensure the application company information matches the Amazon store information.

3. Provide samples: Send one set of each product as a sample.

4. Quote and contract: The laboratory or certification body provides a quotation, and both parties sign and stamp the contract.

5. Sample testing: The China JJR Laboratory conducts testing after receiving the samples, with a cycle of about 5-7 working days.

6. Draft report: After testing is completed, a draft report is issued for confirmation of correct information.

7. Official report: Once the report is confirmed to be correct, the official certification report is issued.
