FCC-ID is one of the mandatory FCC certification modes in the United States, applicable to wireless products. Products with wireless transmission frequencies, such as Bluetooth devices, WiFi devices, wireless devices, radio receivers and transmitters, telephones, and computers, are requiRED to obtain FCC-ID certification. Wireless product certifications are directly approved by FCC TCB organizations and can be verified on the official FCC website.
1. Transmission frequency: 125KHz, 13.56MHz
Typical products: Door card readers, public transportation card readers, wireless chargers.
2. Transmission frequency: 27MHz, 49MHz
Typical products: Remote-controlled toys, wireless MICe.
3. Transmission frequency: 315MHz, 433MHz(intermittent or periodic products; remote-controlled toys are prohibited)
Typical products: Remote switches, wireless doorbells, security devices.
4. Transmission frequency: 88-108MHz
Typical products: In-car FM transmitters.
5. Transmission frequency: 902-928MHz, 2400-2483.5MHz, 5725-5850MHz
Typical products: Remote-controlled toys, wireless mice, Bluetooth speakers, WiFi drones, smart home products.

ised certification is also known as IC-ID certification, which is short for the Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (formerly called the Canadian Industry Department). Since 2016, it has officially been renamed ised, but its label format remains unchanged. ISED certification is the entry pass for electronic products into the Canadian market. Wireless products sold in Canada must pass this certification to be legally marketed and used. The certification process is similar to the FCC in the USA.
- Bluetooth devices
- WiFi devices
- Mechanical products
- Information technology equipment
- Terminal products
- Lighting products
- Radio equipment
- Telecommunications products
- Audio and video broadcasting equipment
- Engineering and medical equipment
- ISED-sdoc: Generally for non-wireless products (without wireless transmission).
- ISED-ID: Generally for wireless products.
Both certification types do not require factory inspections.
- Application form
- IC number
- Local agent authorization letter
- Product circuit schematic and user manual
- Test reports
1. Submit documents
2. Provide product samples
3. Laboratory testing
4. ID number application (through a Canadian agent)
5. ID number registration success
6. Certificate issuance
The typical project cycle is 3-4 weeks.
Only radio products with ISED certification can be sold in the Canadian market. The certification ensures that all radio products available in Canada are safe and comply with appropriate manufacturing and environmental guidelines set by the Canadian government.
