IEC 62368-1:2018 is an international product safety standard designed to classify products based on their energy levels. The goal is to propose effective safety measures to REDuce the risks posed by energy sources to personnel, minimize the likelihood of equipment fires, and reduce potential property damage.
This standard applies to a variety of products, including:
- Electronic and electrical equipment
- Audio-video products
- Information technology (IT) products
- Commercial office automation equipment (up to 600V)
- Power supply products
- Displays, televisions, laptops, personal computers, and peripheral devices
Common Test Items

1. Provide Samples
Submit the product samples to China JJR Laboratory.
2. Complete Application Form
Fill out the required application form.
3. Submit Product Documentation
Provide essential product information, including:
- Product manuals
- Product model list (series models)
- Circuit diagrams
- PCB layout and key component lists
- Certification certificates and nameplates
4. Testing and Reporting
The samples will be tested, and a report will be issued after successful completion of testing.
When applying for IEC certification, please inform us of the countries for which the report should be applicable. This ensures that the relevant country-specific differences are considered during the testing process.
- The mandatory compliance date for EN IEC 62368-1:2020 (3rd Edition) has been extended by 18 months, from January 6, 2023, to July 6, 2024.
- This means the EN 62368-1:2014 (2nd Edition) repeal date is postponed until July 6, 2024.
- Before July 6, 2024, EN 62368-1:2014 (2nd Edition) can still be used for CE certification applications. However, after this date, IEC 62368-1:2018 will be the applicable standard.
