The ISTA 6A standard is a packaging and transportation testing standard required by Amazon. In simple terms, if a product is sold on the Amazon platform, an ISTA 6A test report must be submitted. Amazon categorizes sellers into "major sellers" and "non-major sellers." Major sellers are requiredto provide the ISTA 6A test report. Non-major sellers are not requiredto do so unless their damage rate or complaint rate reaches Amazon’s threshold.

Under ISTA 6A, the type of test depends on the product’s size and weight. For example, the commonly used Type Ais applicable for products weighing less than 23kg, and thus classified as ISTA 6A Type A.
If the product is a monitor or television, it will fall under Type Gor Hin the ISTA 6A standard.

ISTA 6-Amazon.com - Over Boxing: This test applies to products shipped within Amazon’s packaging boxesthrough Amazon’s delivery network, including truck, rail, and air.
Fragile vs. Non-Fragile Products: Amazon has specific sample quantity requirements. Fragile items include but are not limited to glass, ceramics, porcelain, clay, electronics, and liquids.
LTL (Less Than Truckload) Shipping: This refers to the shipment of goods that do not fill an entire truckload and are shipped alongside other cargo.
Standard Handling Method (Floor Loaded): Refers to shipments to Amazon fulfillment centers that arrive without pallets (individual packaging) or are palletized but sold to customers without the pallet.
Notes:
1. Elongated Package Product: The longest dimension is ≥ 36 inches (910 mm), and the other two dimensions are < 20% of the longest dimension.
2. Flat Package Product: The shortest side ≤ 8 inches (200 mm), the second-longest side is ≥ 4 times the shortest side, and the total volume is ≥ 800 cubic inches (13,000 cm³).
