AliExpress US Site: Wireless Products Must Have FCC-ID Starting July 29

Update time : 2026-07-28

Attention cross-border sellers operating radio frequency (RF) products on the AliExpress US site, such as Bluetooth earphones, smart wearables, wireless cameras, and routers! The platform's latest compliance control policy is about to be implemented and will officially take effect on July 29, 2026. All wireless RF products will be subject to a mandatory verification of a full set of fcc-ID qualifications. Listings with missing materials or mismatched information will be directly shielded by the system, and existing active inventory will simultaneously become unsellable. It is urgent to self-check and rectify in advance!

Two Modes of fcc certification

Many sellers cannot distinguish between FCC-ID and fcc sdoc. The applicable products and legal validity of these two qualifications are vastly different. Mixing them up will result in a direct rejection during the review:

FCC-ID (Mandatory Admission Certificate for Wireless Products)

Targeting devices that actively emit RF signals, such as those equipped with Bluetooth, WiFi, 2.4G/5.8G, LoRa, RF remote controls, etc., this is a mandatory certification under US law. A full set of RF testing must be completed by an FCC-authorized TCB laboratory. Upon approval, a globally unique FCC-ID number is issued, and the information is permanently entered into the official FCC database. Both customs and the platform can verify this online. Entering the US market without this certification is illegal.

Format Standard: fcc id: 5-digit enterprise code - custom product code.

FCC sdoc (Ordinary Electronic Supplier's Declaration of Conformity)

Only applicable to wired electronic products without wireless transmission functions (wired mice, ordinary adapters, wired lamps, etc.). No Tcb certification is required. The enterprise can issue a declaration of conformity after self-testing. There is no exclusive ID, and it absolutely cannot replace the FCC-ID for listing wireless products.

Key Takeaway: With wireless function = Can only apply for FCC-ID, SDoC is invalid!

Full Coverage Product List for This Control

This control covers all radio frequency devices, namely electronic devices capable of generating, using, or emitting RF energy. Common categories include:

  • Short-range wireless devices: Bluetooth earphones, Bluetooth speakers, smartwatches, routers, wireless mice/keyboards, etc.

  • Mobile communication terminals: Smartphones, 4G/5G CPEs, automotive T-BOX, NB-IoT modules, etc.

  • Remote control and security devices: Wireless cameras, RFID readers/writers, garage door remotes, wireless video doorbells, etc.

  • Other devices: Drones, walkie-talkies, wireless microphones, baby monitors, wireless chargers with communication functions, etc.

As long as the product has transmission functions like WiFi, Bluetooth, 2.4G/5.8G wireless, RF remote control, ZigBee, LoRa, etc., it must obtain an FCC ID.

Four Compliance Materials to be Submitted

AliExpress reviews adopt a "Three Unifications" standard: The certificate, product label, and store Listing information must match perfectly. Missing even a single item will directly intercept the listing / shield the link:

  • Original Valid FCC-ID Certificate:
Issued by an FCC-recognized TCB institution. The certificate status in the FCC database must be "Granted" (Valid). Expired or canceled certificates will not be recognized.

  • Clear Real Shots of the Product / Outer Packaging Label:
The real shot must completely display the standard FCC ID code. Blurred images or those with only "FCC" printed without the complete number will be rejected. The certificate model and brand must be exactly the same as the label.

  • Accompanying User Manual:
The manual must contain the official fcc compliance statement and RF warning phrases. Failure to include the statement document will result in a failed review.

  • Full Set of Test Reports (for platform random checks):
No need to actively upload, but the platform may initiate random inspections at any time. If a complete RF test report issued by a qualified laboratory cannot be provided, the product will be immediately taken off the shelf, and a compliance record will be generated for the store.

Seller Self-Check and Rectification Plan

Scenario 1: New products not yet released (Optimal rectification window)

Complete a 4-step verification before listing:

  1. Determine if the product belongs to the RF wireless control category.

  2. Check if the FCC-ID certificate is genuine, searchable, and in valid status.

  3. Unify the brand, model, and ID number across the certificate, product, and Listing.

  4. Print compliance labels and perfect the compliance paragraphs in the manual in advance, then create the listing.

Scenario 2: Already have a large number of active wireless listings (Emergency handling)

  1. Log in to the seller backend to check compliance reminders; the platform will batch-mark products with missing qualifications.

  2. Verify the three core pieces of FCC-ID information for listed products one by one: verifiable on the official website, matching models, and consistent brands.

  3. For products with misused certificates, mismatched models, or non-compliant labels, complete certificate supplementation, image modification, and detail page updates before July 29. Overdue items will be automatically shielded, affecting store ranking and inventory turnover.

High-Frequency Review Rejection Pitfalls List

  1. The label picture only writes "FCC", without a complete fcc id number.

  2. The certificate model, Listing product name, and physical model are inconsistent.

  3. The FCC database query shows an Inactive (invalid, canceled) certificate.

  4. The user manual lacks mandatory RF warnings and compliance statements.

  5. Misusing a module's FCC-ID; modifying the antenna or RF circuit of the whole machine invalidates the certificate.

  6. Providing fake certificates or simplified reports issued by institutions without formal TCB qualifications.

Complete FCC-ID Application Process

  1. Provide product specifications and manuals; the laboratory evaluates the RF test standards and cycle.

  2. Send complete machine, packaging, and accessory samples that are identical to mass production.

  3. The laboratory completes a full set of tests including EMC, RF power, spurious emissions, SAR, etc.

  4. Compile a full set of technical documents and submit them to the TCB institution for review.

  5. Upon passing the review, the FCC-ID certificate is issued, data is entered into the official FCC database, and the enterprise retains the full set of reports for archiving.

Serious Consequences of Non-Compliance, Do Not Take Chances

  1. After July 29, products without compliance qualifications will be directly taken off the shelves and shielded, unable to be sold on the US site.

  2. Customs inspections catching goods lacking FCC-IDs will result in direct seizure, incurring high port demurrage and destruction fees.

  3. Violating the US Communications Act exposes enterprises to large administrative fines.

  4. The store accumulating multiple compliance violation records will affect store traffic and event enrollment, and severely restrict category operations.

With only 1 day left before the July 29 control implementation, all AliExpress US site sellers operating wireless RF products must immediately launch a store-wide product qualification inspection. Products with invalid certificates, missing certifications, or non-compliant labels/manuals must be rectified as soon as possible.
