Update time : 2025-01-08

Recently, many sellers on Amazon and TEMU platforms have been seeking assistance with U.S. CPC reports.

It is understood that Amazon and TEMU have placed great emphasis on product safety and compliance. For example, children's toys and baby products exported to the United States must obtain CPC Certification and cpsia reports to be sold on cross-border e-commerce platforms like Amazon and TEMU.

If sellers provide incomplete CPC certificate information or submit fake CPC certificates, they may face serious consequences such as product removal or even store suspension.

How Can Sellers Protect Themselves?

Sellers who receive warnings shoULd immediately check their ASINs and confirm compliance with the documentation. If the issue lies with unverifiable documents, they should promptly contact a certified laboratory to create a genuine CPC report for resubmission.

For sellers who receive performance warnings, writing a Plan of Action (POA) to assist in appeals is crucial. While appealing a permanent store suspension is challenging, submitting authentic certificates and a strong POA can improve the chances of reinstatement.

To avoid future issues, sellers should choose certified laboratories for testing and ensure the certification process is properly handled. Additionally, they can verify the certification status of laboratories through official channels or directly contact the laboratory to confirm the authenticity of the certificate.

What is CPC Certification?

CPC certification is a mandatory safety certification system implemented by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) for children's products. According to the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA), all children's products sold in the United States—including toys, clothing, furniture, and baby care items—must undergo testing. Manufacturers or importers are requiRED to issue a CPC certificate to demonstrate compliance with all relevant children's product safety regulations.

Which Products Require CPC Certification?

CPC certification applies to consumer products designed or intended for use by children under the age of 12. The certification covers the following types of children’s products:

- Toys: Including but not limited to plastic toys, wooden toys, electronic toys, plush toys, etc.

- Cribs and Accessories: Such as cribs, cradles, mattresses, etc.

- Strollers: Including baby strollers, foldable strollers, etc.

- Children's Clothing: Such as pajamas and swimwear, especially those with flammability concerns.

- Children’s Furniture: Including children's tables, chairs, storage cabinets, etc.

- Children's Tableware: Such as bowls, plates, and cups for children.

- Feeding Supplies: Including baby bottles, pacifiers, etc.

CPC Certification Process

1. Determine Product Scope and Certification Requirements: Identify whether the product falls within the CPC certification scope and understand the relevant regulations and standards.

2. Product Testing: Send the product to a third-party testing laboratory for evaluation. Testing includes aspects such as materials, structure, and performance to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

3. Prepare CPC Certification Documents: Based on test results and regulatory requirements, prepare the certification documents, ensuring all information is accurate.

4. Submit CPC Certification Documents: Submit the documents for review. Once approved, the Children's Product Certificate will be issued.

5. Maintain Certificate Validity: Regular testing is required to ensure products continue to meet safety standards. Certificate information must also be updated promptly.

How Much Does cpc certification cost?

CPC certification costs include testing fees, certification fees, and review fees. Specific costs depend on the type of product, testing content, and the chosen laboratory.

Typically, CPC certification can be expensive. It is important to carefully consider product safety, compliance, and the associated testing and certification costs. For instance, the cost of CPC certification at China’s JJR Laboratory ranges from $580 to $1,200.

Note for Sellers:

China’s JJR Laboratory is equipped with the capability to conduct CPC certification tests. New Asia Pacific Testing advises clients to closely monitor regulatory updates, assess material compliance, and ensure their products can smoothly enter the market.
