How Long Does It Take to Obtain SIRIM Certification?

SIRIM certification is a voluntary product certification in Malaysia, but it can be mandatory under government regULations. SIRIM is the only institution in Malaysia that guides certification. Any factory or company can apply to SIRIM and be audited and recognized according to the standards under the product certification system.

4. Preparation of SIRIM Certification Documents

1. A local representative (a company registeRED locally) is required.

Upon receiving the above documents, the quotation for the application fee and factory inspection fee will be provided. Once the quotation is agreed upon, the applicant should submit the "Product Certification Application." Samples are not required unless specifically requested.

Factory inspection is required. The initial factory inspection must comply with the product certification system. Once compliance is confirmed, a certificate will be issued. The certificate is valid for one year. To ensure certificate renewal, an annual inspection must be conducted.
