With the tightening of product compliance regulations in the European Union, the Temu platform is also strengthening its qualification management. Following stricter investigations into falsified certificates, Temu has recently begun enforcing comprehensive CE-RoHS qualification requirements.

Important Notice for Sellers of Electronic and Electrical Products to Europe

All products that fall under the directive requirements must provide CE-RoHSand CE-EMCcertifications. Sellers can check in the Compliance Center whether their products need to upload these qualifications.

Temu has already begun removing non-compliant products from the platform!

1. Products with the requiRED certifications must upload the relevant documentation as soon as possible.

2. Sellers without the necessary certifications must obtain them quickly to avoid product removal.

Additionally, Temu recently issued stricter rULes: every model, material, and color of each product must undergo individual testingbefore being listed. Combining certificates for different models, series, or colors is no longer allowed. Failure to comply may lead to serious consequences.

What is RoHS?

① RoHS(Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive) is an important environmental protection regulation established by the European Union. The latest directive is 2015/863/EU.

The directive aims to restrict the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, in order to minimize their negative impact on the environment and human health.

What Products Does RoHS Cover?

RoHS applies to "electrical and electronic equipment" (EEE), which refers to devices designed to operate with a rated voltage not exceeding 1000 V ACor 1500 V DC, and that depend on electric currents or electromagnetic fields to function properly. It also includes equipment for generating, transmitting, and measuring such currents and fields.

Covered Categories:

① Large household appliances

② Small household appliances

③ IT and telecommunication equipment

④ Consumer devices

⑤ Lighting equipment

⑥ Electrical and electronic tools

⑦ Toys, leisure, and sports equipment

⑧ Medical devices

⑨ Monitoring instruments, including industrial monitoring instruments

⑩ Automatic dispensers

⑪ Other electrical and electronic equipment not covered by the above categories

Restricted Hazardous Substances

With the release of new standards, China’s RoHS restrictions have been updated to include the following substances:

1. Addition of four phthalates (DBP, BBP, DEHP, DIBP) to the controlled list

a) Lead (Pb): ≤0.1%

b) Mercury (Hg): ≤0.1%

c) Cadmium (Cd): ≤0.01%

d) Hexavalent Chromium \[Cr(VI)]: ≤0.1%

e) Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB): ≤0.1%

f) Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE): ≤0.1%

g) BIS(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP): ≤0.1%

h) Benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP): ≤0.1%

i) Dibutyl phthalate (DBP): ≤0.1%

j) Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP): ≤0.1%

2. Hexavalent chromium \[Cr(VI)] must be tested in accordance with GB/T 39560.701, and the result must confirm "Cr(VI) negative."
