These guidelines provide information on the flammability safety requirements for children’s pajamas in sizes 0 to 14X. They cover bathrobes, pajamas, and dressing gowns that are manufactuRED, imported, advertised, or sold in Canada.
1. Children’s pajamas, nightgowns, bathrobes, dressing gowns, loungewear, robes, loose-fitting pajamas, and doll pajamas for infants in sizes up to 14X.
2. Loose-fitting pajamas do not include:
- Pajamas specifically designed for infants weighing no more than 7 kg.
- Pajamas designed specifically for hospital use.
- POLO loungewear or pajama pants.
Any children’s pajamas that are not loose-fitting and are up to size 14X. Fitted pajamas include:
1. Pajamas specifically designed for infants weighing no more than 7 kg.
2. Pajamas designed for hospital use.
3. POLO loungewear.
4. Pajama pants.
Amazon requires all children’s pajamas to be tested and meet the following regulations, standards, and requirements:
- SOR/2016-169 (Children’s Pajamas Regulations)
- SOR/2018-83 (Total Lead Content - Canadian Consumer Product Safety Act - Lead Content)
- SOR/2016-188 (Canadian Consumer Product Safety Act - Phthalates Regulations)
- Textile Labeling and Advertising Regulations
