- Complete the renewal of French WEEE, battery law, textiles, furniture, and German WEEE and battery law before October 20;

- Complete the renewal of German Packaging Law and French Packaging Law before December 15;

What should I do if the account is no longer in operation?

Many sellers still have some questions about EPR renewal:

"I don't plan to continue operating at this site. Do I still need to renew the subscription?"

"I don't plan to do EPR and I don't want to renew it. Can I just ignore it?"

Do I need to renew the subscription if it is less than one year?

Many sellers are confused about EPR renewal:

"I registeRED for EPR in July this year, and it hasn't even been a year yet. Shouldn't I renew it in July next year?"

"I have only registered for an EPR for a few months. Do I need to renew it?"

In fact, both are necessary, because EPR is renewed according to the calendar year. According to official policy announcements, the validity period of EPR after registration is calculated according to the calendar year. A calendar year refers to a full year calculated according to the Gregorian calendar, that is, the period from January 1 to December 31 of the same year. 

Therefore, no matter when you register or where you purchase the EPR compliance service, the validity period after registration is calculated based on the calendar year, that is, it expires on December 31 of the same year and needs to be renewed the following year. Therefore, sellers need to complete the relevant EPR renewal before the deadline to avoid the EPR registration number from becoming invalid and affecting the compliance operation of the store.

What are the consequences of not renewing the subscription on time?

(1) Expiration of the EPR registration number

The corresponding EPR registration number will be frozen, and the corresponding account cancellation fee will need to be paid. In addition, the seller account still needs to complete the declaration and pay the relevant recycling fee before cancellation;

(2) Unable to continue using the declaration and recycling services

Since the registration number was determined to be abnormal by the official platform, the account will be restricted and will no longer be able to use the relevant EPR declaration and recovery services, and may face huge official fines.

(3) The store is banned from selling

Amazon, AliExpress, Temu and other cross-border e-commerce platforms have forced sellers to complete the German and French EPR compliance, otherwise they will be forced to remove products and block sites. If the EPR registration number expires, the store may face risks such as banning sales and closing down.
