Recently, Labubu has rapidly gained popULarity online. As a highly popular IP under Pop Mart, exporting Labubu toys requires multiple tests. The specific testing items and certification standards vary depending on the export destination.

Export to the United States

To export toys to the U.S., they must comply with the regulations of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). Labubu toys require cpsc testing and a CPC certificate.

 

1. astm f963-17 – U.S. Mandatory Toy Safety Standard, including:

- Mechanical and physical safety (preventing sharp edges, choking hazards)

- Flammability testing

- Electrical functions (if applicable)

- Coating and material migration

 

2. cpsia testing, including:

- Lead content limit (≤100 ppm)

- Lead in surface coatings (≤90 ppm)

- Phthalates testing (for plastic and soft toys)

 

3. Third-Party Testing:

- All products for children aged 12 and under must be tested by a CPSC-accredited lab; self-testing is not allowed.

 

4. Tracking Label:

- Every toy and its packaging must have a tracking label, including:

- Manufacturer name

- Production date (month/year)

- Place of origin (e.g., Made in China)

- Batch or tracking code

- Optional: website or contact information

- Purpose: For future recalls or quality traceability.

 

Export to European Union (EU) Countries

Toys exported to the EU must comply with EU laws and regulations and meet the EU Toy Safety Directive (2009/48/EC). Labubu, being a non-electric plush toy, should pass the following standard tests:

 

-EN 71-1: Mechanical and physical properties

-EN 71-2: Flammability

-en 71-3: Migration of toxic elements (heavy metals)

 

The CE mark must be affixed on Labubu product labels and blind boxes.

 

Requirements in China

Labubu toys in China must meet the following testing and certification requirements:

 

1. china compulsory certification (CCC):

- Labubu toys that are electronic or contain electronic components require ccc certification.

- CCC is a mandatory product certification system in China for products involving personal safety, life safety, or health.

 

2. Toy Safety Standards:

- According to the GB 6675 series standards, toys must meet safety requirements including mechanical and physical performance, flammability, and chemical substance migration.
