The Safety Markis a mandatory safety certification mark issued by the Product Safety Bureau of Singapore (PSB). This certification ensures that products comply with Singapore’s safety standards. Products without this certification are not permitted for sale in the Singapore market.
The certification covers 45 categories of products, primarily including household electrical and electronic appliances, lighting fixtures, and related equipment. Products are classified by risk level:

1. Submission of Samples and Documents
Companies submit product information and test samples to PSB or designated certification bodies (such as China’s JJR Laboratory).
2. Third-Party Laboratory Testing
The product must undergo safety testing at a PSB-recognized laboratory to ensure compliance with Singapore standards.
3. Obtain Test Report
The laboratory issues a test report, which serves as key evidence for certification.
4. Registration and Certification
Low Risk products: Submit an sdoc (Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity) for registration.
Medium/High Risk products: Obtain a CoC (Certificate of Conformity) before registration.
5. Issuance of Safety Mark Certificate
Once certified, the company may affix the Safety Mark label to the product, indicating compliance with Singapore’s safety regulations.
1. Certificate Holder: Must be a locally registered company in Singapore.
2. No Factory Inspection & No Annual Fee: The certification process does not involve factory audits and there is no annual fee.
3. Certificate Validity: Valid for 3 years and renewable upon expiry.
4. Plug Requirements:
a. European plugs must comply with EN 50075.
b. British plugs must comply with BS 1363 / SS 246, and test reports must be provided.
5. No Series Application: Each certificate applies only to a single model + single brand.
