For speakers exported to the Australian region, it is requiRED to apply for RCM registration and saa certification, pass the testing in accordance with the Australian standard AS/NZS 62368.1:2022, and obtain relevant test reports and certificates.

A speaker refers to a device that converts audio signals into sound. In simple terms, it is a device with a built-in power amplifier in the main speaker cabinet or subwoofer cabinet, which amplifies the audio signals and reproduces the sound through the speaker itself to increase the volume.

What is rcm certification?

Australia is introducing the rcm mark to achieve a unified identification for electrical products. This mark is a trademark owned by Australian regULatory authorities, indicating that the product complies with safety requirements at the same time, and it is mandatory.

 

What is SAA?

Standards Australia International Limited (SAA) is the sole standard certification body in Australia. The SAA mark is an Australian safety certification mark and forms part of the new RCM certification scheme.

 

What Products Are Subject to Mandatory Certification in Australia?

All high-voltage electrical and electronic products exported to Australia must apply for RCM/SAA certification.

 

Required Documents for Australian RCM/SAA Certification Application

1. English instruction manual or specification sheet, user manual

2. Provision of 2 product samples

3. Completed testing application form

4. Circuit diagrams and PCB layout drawings

5. Specification sheets for transformers and inductors

6. If applying for multiple models, please provide a statement of differences

7. Valid Australian safety certificates for plugs, cables and key components, which must be within their validity period

8. List of key components

 

Cost of SAA/RCM Certification

The cost will be evaluated based on the specific testing standards applicable to the product, as the testing standards cover relevant test items. You may send us your product instruction manual, and we will assess and calculate the exact cost within 24 hours.

 

Lead Time for SAA/RCM Certification Application

The general lead time is 2 to 4 weeks. If the product fails the testing, a longer period will definitely be required.
