What does the fcc logo look like? How should it be used? Are there risks if it’s used incorrectly?
Do you know the answers? This article will highlight the key points for you.
FCC stands for Federal Communications Commission. It was established in 1934 under the Communications Act and is an independent agency directly accountable to the U.S. Congress.
Its primary role is to regulate communication products in the U.S. market, including radio, television, telecommunications, satellites, and cable.
Simply put—if your product is a radio application, communication device, or digital product, and you want to sell it in the U.S., you almost certainly have to pass FCC certification.
The FCC official website has updated its logo design(https://www.fcc.gov/general/logos-fcc). The main change is in the "cut" areaof the logo. You can compare the old and new designs for reference.
The new logo is only applicableto products certified through the sdoc (Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity)procedure. Companies must strictly follow the latest sample when printing.
Many people can’t distinguish between the right-angle FCC logoand the sharp-angle FCC logo. Here’s the direct answer:
All products that have passed SDoC testingmust use the right-angle FCC logospecified in KDB 784748 Section 2.5.
Key points to note:
1. If a product meets the SDoC requirements, using the logo on the label is optional. However, if you do use it, it means your product is fully compliant.
2. Products that have notundergone conformity assessment must neveruse this logo.
3. Using the logo does not replacethe mandatory unique product identification and compliance statement required by SDoC.
4. Exempt devices mentioned in Section 15.103cannot use the logo unless they have undergone full evaluation under the SDoC procedure.
The sharp-angle logo is FCC’s exclusive official mark, used only on formal FCC documents(such as public notices, certification certificates, etc.).
It must never be usedon enterprise product labels.
1. Products already shipped using the sharp-angle logo currently face no risk.
2. However, for all future production, the label must be corrected to the right-angle logoto avoid compliance issues.
FCC certification is the entry ticketfor products to enter the U.S. market, and proper logo usageis a critical compliance detail.
We recommend enterprises:
1. Update product labels as soon as possible to adopt the latest right-angle logo.
2. Review SDoC requirements to ensure the label includes complete unique product identificationand compliance statements.
3. For exempt devices, confirm whether a full SDoC evaluationhas been completed before deciding whether to use the logo.
