What are the standards of ISO 8124?

iso 8124 is an international toy testing standard consisting of seven parts: ISO 8124-1, ISO 8124-2, ISO 8124-3, ISO 8124-4, ISO 8124-5, ISO 8124-6, and ISO 8124-7.

 

- ISO 8124-1: Specifies requirements and testing methods for the mechanical and physical properties of toys intended for use by children under 14 years of age.

 

- ISO 8124-2: Specifies categories of flammable materials prohibited in all toys and flammability requirements for certain toys that may be exposed to small ignition sources.

 

- ISO 8124-3: Specifies test methods and limits for eight soluble heavy metals in accessible toy materials.

 

- ISO 8124-4: Specifies requirements and testing methods for toys intended for use by children under 14 years for family entertainment, including swings, slides, seesaws, carousels, rocking toys, climbing frames, and enclosed toddler swing seats.

 

- ISO 8124-5: Specifies test methods for the total concentration of antimony, arsenic, barium, cadmium, chromium, lead, mercury, and selenium in toy materials.

 

- ISO 8124-6: Specifies test methods for phthalates (DBP, BBP, DEHP, DNOP, DINP, DIDP, and DIBP) in toys and children's products.

 

- ISO 8124-7: Specifies requirements for substances and materials used in finger paints.

 

- ISO/TR 8124-8: Provides guidance on determining reasonable age groups for specific toys.

 

- IEC 62115: Specifies requirements for electric toys regarding marking and instructions, input power, heating and abnormal operation, electrical insULation strength under working conditions, moisture resistance, mechanical strength, structure, cords and wires protection, components, screws and connections, creepage distances, resistance to heat and fire, radiation, toxicity, and similar hazards.
