After air fryers became viral on Douyin in China, they have now gained huge popularity in the foreign trade circle and are widely favored by overseas consumers. As a popular kitchen product, what certifications are required to sell air fryers on various Amazon sites? What materials are needed to apply for the certifications? Only after completing these certifications can sellers sell with confidence and achieve long-term stable sales performance.
Air fryers are small kitchen appliances. The following certifications are recommended for air fryers exported to various Amazon sites:
• Amazon US: FCC Certification, UL Test, FDA Test, California Proposition 65 Test, etc.
• Amazon EU: CE certification, ROHS certification.
• Amazon Germany: GS Certification.
• Amazon UK: ukca certification.
• Amazon Japan: pse certification.

FCC stands for Federal Communications Commission. FCC certification is a mandatory certification in the United States, which tests the electromagnetic compatibility of products. Many radio application products, communication products and digital products are required to obtain FCC approval before entering the US market.
There are two types of US FCC certifications: fcc id and fcc sdoc.
• FCC ID: Controls wireless products. It is a mandatory certification. Bluetooth products, WIFI products, 3G/4G communication products all need to apply for FCC ID certification.
• FCC SDoC: Controls general non-wireless products. It is a self-verification system. Manufacturers or importers ensure that their products have undergone relevant tests and keep the test reports. The FCC has the right to require them to submit product samples and test data.
Air fryers fall under the scope of FCC SDoC.

UL certification is a voluntary certification, which requires product testing and factory audits, with quarterly audits, high costs, long cycles and very strict factory inspections.
A UL test report is issued after the product passes the test in accordance with the corresponding UL standards. It features low cost, short cycle and no factory audit required. It can be used for Amazon audit but is invalid for customs clearance.
Recently, some sellers reported that Amazon has started strict inspections on air fryer UL1026 test reports. Failure to provide the report within the specified time may result in suspension of sales and listing removal. All electrical products listed on Amazon require relevant UL reports, and only test reports issued by ISO 17025 accredited laboratories can support normal sales and link restoration.

In addition, for selling air fryers on Amazon, FDA food-grade testing and California Proposition 65 environmental testing are recommended.
CE stands for CONFORMITÉ EUROPÉENNE. It is a safety certification mark and a mandatory certification mark in the EU market.
Whether products are produced by EU enterprises or other countries, they must bear the "CE" mark to circulate freely in the EU market, indicating that they meet the basic requirements of the EU New Approach to Technical Harmonization and Standardization directives.

RoHS is a mandatory standard enacted by EU legislation. Its full name is Restriction of Hazardous Substances. It is mainly used to regulate the materials and technical standards of electrical and electronic products to be more conducive to human health and environmental protection.
The standard aims to restrict 10 substances in electrical and electronic products, including lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls, polybrominated diphenyl ethers and four plasticizers. The lead content is specified to not exceed 0.1%.

GS stands for "Geprüfte Sicherheit" (Certified Safety) in German, also meaning "Germany Safety".
GS certification is a voluntary certification based on the German Product Safety Act, tested in accordance with EU harmonized standards EN or German industrial standards DIN. It is a widely recognized German safety certification mark in the European market.
Although not legally mandatory, it is widely recognized by consumers and enterprises. Air fryers sold in the German market that do not meet GS requirements will be difficult to sell. The GS mark enjoys higher recognition than the CE mark. GS certificates are issued by qualified third-party testing organizations.
