What is Singapore PSB Certification?

Introduction to PSB Certification: 

Only registeRED products with the “SAFETY” mark are allowed to be sold in Singapore. Entities responsible for selling regULated goods to consumers in Singapore must register each model with the safety authority. Registration requires certification and test reports to verify compliance with mandatory product safety standards. Currently, Singapore mandates safety compliance but treats EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) as a voluntary requirement. Products can only enter the Singapore market for sale after obtaining PSB certification.

Singapore’s mandatory safety certification applies to 33 types of products, including: 

- Audio products 

- Household personal computers and peripheral devices 

- Household appliances 

PSB Certification Standards: 

cb certification can be used for PSB certification. Products must also meet tropical condition testing under IEC standards. 

- IT Power Supplies/Products

Required Documents for PSB Certification: 

1. cb certificate and test reports valid within three years (in English only) 

2. Labels (PSB applications only accept single model submissions, not series models) 

3. Circuit diagrams and layout 

4. Bill of Materials (BOM) 

5. User manual in English 

6. Color photographs, including exterior and internal images (highlighting key safety components) 

7. Other information, including the name, address, and contact details of the importer or agent in Singapore 

Notes on PSB Certification: 

1. The certificate holder must be a locally registered company in Singapore. 

2. No factory inspection or annual fees are required. 

3. The certificate is valid for three years. 

4. If the product is a plug-in power supply, the plug must meet specific requirements. For example: 

   - EU plugs must comply with EN50075. 

   - UK plugs must comply with BS1363 or SS246 and have corresponding plug test reports. 

5. Certification does not allow series applications; each certificate covers only one model and one trademark. 

6. Samples are generally not required if a valid CB certificate or report is available. 

7. Certification standards include IEC standards plus Singapore-specific deviations or SS standards.
