Currently, electronic and electrical products exported to the United States and listed on platforms like Amazon, TEMU, TikTok, eBay, Shein, AliExpress, etc., all require fcc certification.

What is fcc certification?

Electronic and electrical products exported to and listed on U.S. platforms must apply for FCC certification. The FCC, or Federal Communications Commission, was established in 1934 by the Communications Act. It is an independent agency of the U.S. government, directly responsible to Congress.

The FCC coordinates domestic and international communications through control over radio, television, telecommunications, satellite, and cable. It covers over 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories. To ensure the safety of radio and wire communications related to life and property, the FCC’s Office of Engineering and Technology is responsible for technical support and equipment approval. Many radio applications, communication products, and digital products entering the U.S. market require fcc approval. The FCC investigates and researches product safety at various stages to find the best solutions to problems. This also includes testing radio devices and aircraft.

What Standards Are Used for FCC Certification?

1. FCC Part 15: Covers computing devices, cordless phones, satellite receivers, TV interface devices, receivers, and low-power transmitters. It is divided into:

   - Class A: Commercial, industrial, or business use equipment.

   - Class B: Home or personal use equipment. These standards apply to all devices using electromagnetic frequencies, including radio transmitters, computer equipment, digital devices, TV receivers, monitors, etc.

2. FCC Part 18: Electromagnetic interference standards for industrial, scientific, and medical equipment using RF energy.

   - Applicable to equipment generating and using local RF energy for industrial, scientific, medical, home, or similar purposes.

3. FCC Part 22: Public mobile communication services.

   - Applicable to antennas, ground stations, mobile stations, and temporary fixed stations.

4. FCC Part 24: Personal communication systems, including licensed personal communication services.

5. FCC Part 25: Satellite communication services.

6. FCC Part 27: Other FCC wireless communication services.

7. FCC Part 68: Telecommunications terminal equipment.

8. FCC Part 74: Experimental broadcasting, auxiliary broadcasting, and program distribution services.

9. fcc part 90: Private land mobile radio services, including paging devices and mobile radio transmitters for land mobile radio products like walkie-talkies.

10. FCC Part 95: Personal radio services, including CB transmitters, R/C toys, and devices for family radio service.
