EMC Compliance Testing Australia

The C-Tick is an Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) certification mark implemented by the Australian Communications Authority (ACA, now the Australian Communications and Media Authority, ACMA). It is mainly used for market access regULation of electronic devices and certain communication products. This certification requires manufacturers or importers to complete technical testing, registration, sign a declaration of conformity, and affix labels. Product labels must include the supplier's registeRED name, company number, and ACMA authorization code, etc. Unlike the A-Tick (exclusively for communication equipment), the C-Tick focuses on electronic products, and the two are applied based on differences in interference levels.

Australian EMC, as the name suggests, refers to emc testing in Australia. Similar to the European CE-EMC, it is also called electromagnetic compatibility testing. It should be noted here that the corresponding country or region must be added before EMC for laboratory engineers to distinguish it. Australian EMC was previously known as C-Tick.

Australian RF refers to the radio frequency report for wireless products in Australia. For Short-Range Devices (SRD), the new version of the as/nzs 4268:2017 standard clearly specifies that European ETSI or US fcc standards can be directly referenced for testing. For detailed information, refer to the links on the right and the corresponding standards.

Testing Standards

EMC Testing Standards

① IT & AV: AS/NZS CISPR32

② Household Appliances: AS CISPR14.1

③ Lighting Fixtures: AS CISPR15

RF Testing Standards

① Short-Range Devices (SRD): AS/NZS 4268

Manufacturers and importers must follow the steps below to use the A-Tick:

① Conduct product testing in accordance with ACAQ technical standards.

② Register with the ACMA for the use of A/C-Tick.

③ Complete the "Declaration of Conformity Form" and keep it together with product compliance records.

④ Affix a label with the A/C-Tick mark on the communication product or equipment.

⑤ Sell to consumers.

The A-Tick applies exclusively to communication products. Most electronic products apply for the C-Tick. However, if an electronic product applies for the A-Tick, there is no need to apply for the C-Tick separately.
