On February 1, 2022, Amazon officially announced that radio frequency devices (RFDs) sold on Amazon.com U.S. must meet new FCC compliance requirements. It emphasized that all RFDs must provide FCC complianCE certification and information by March 7, 2022; otherwise, the products will be removed from the platform.
According to Amazon’s policy, all radio frequency devices (RFDs) must comply with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations, as well as all applicable federal, state, and local laws. If you're unsure whether the products you are selling fall under the FCC's definition of an RFD, the FCC defines an RFD as any electronic or electrical product that emits radio frequency energy. Currently, FCC-regulated RFD products include: Wi-Fi devices, Bluetooth devices, radios, broadcast transmitters, signal boosters, and cellular-based devices, among others. You can refer to the FCC guide to understand what qualifies as an RFD product by following the link in the original document.
If you plan to sell RFD products on Amazon, according to FCC wireless radio frequency compliance regulations, you must take one of the following actions:
1. Provide Amazon with FCC compliance authorization, including the FCC certification number or the contact information of the responsible party as defined by the FCC.
2. Declare that the product does not emit radio frequency energy, or that, according to regulations, the product does not require FCC authorization as an RFD. Complete the FCC wireless radio frequency compliance information form (available via the link in the original document).
Starting from March 7, 2022, ASINs missing the required FCC information will be removed from the Amazon platform until the necessary information is provided.
