What do IT/AV power supply manufacturers need to do to obtain kc certification for exporting to South Korea?
The South Korean Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE) has implemented and adopted a unified national KC mark, known as the "KC Mark". According to the Electrical Appliances Safety Control Act of South Korea regarding the kc mark certification Products List, effective January 1, 2009, electrical product safety certification is divided into two types: Mandatory Safety Certification and Self-Regulatory Safety Confirmation. KC is a mandatory certification in South Korea. Domestic or foreign manufacturers must obtain South Korean safety certification before importing electronic products into South Korea.

The KC certification application cycle takes 4-6 weeks.
The validity of the kc certificate is maintained through a factory inspection conducted once every two years.
South Korean safety laws stipulate that an initial factory inspection is required after the application is accepted. After the certificate is authorized, the certification body will also conduct a follow-up tracking inspection of the factory every two years. The main purpose is to check the consistency of the factory's quality control system and to verify whether it can continuously meet the standards of the safety laws.
